STYLE(S)

I just love so many styles of music and I really do enjoy it all! If asked what music would sing if I could only choose one style, I think I would have to say...my own -- I would make up up style of my own that would combine a jazzy, funky latin groove and some rockin' blues.

I categorize my repertoire by the following styles and artists:

CURRENT STATUS

Performing is really where it's at for me, but I also enjoy recording. I have competed several demo CDs in a variety of styles and would like to record a CD of original music -- mostly jazz, and include some other talent by local Toronto jazz artists.

I enjoy song writing, however I am usually most inspired when I am around musicians and other songwriters. I'd like to do some more collaborating with others. I am currently playing a role as the female lead in a musical theatre production with all original music composed by John Sigvaldason (details at a later date).

Most of my performances are held corporate functions or private venus. I occasionally perform with nightclub bands -- in fact I quite enjoy it! I perform when I can, where I can -- and I absolutely love what I do! It's a thrill to have an appreciative audience and I aim to deliver the most authentic, soul-driven and entertaining performance -- at each and every opportunity!

BACKGROUND

I came from a musical family; my grandparents came to Canada from Germany before I was born. They performed and taught music all their lives. My first instrument was the harmonica, then the accordion. I think I am the only one in two generations within the family who has carried on with a music career.

I studied music throughout my school years; beginning with guitar then saxaphone. I began singing publicly at the age of 17, not counting my childhood performances:)

Currently I am performing for private clubs and corporate functions. I am also studying jazz piano and rehearsing at JS Music Productions.
